Our Brief:
As end users, Equinor (previously known as Statoil, Norway) who are the 2nd largest gas supplier in Europe required an actuator which could be specifically made to operate underwater. Submerged to a considerable depth of 40 metres the actuator was required to operate consistently for 24 hours.
What we did:
Working collaboratively with the design engineers at KOSO Kent Introl, we developed a solution which would more than stand up to this challenge. Working to a high specification and standard the actuator was independently built and tested by our team at Advanced Actuators. Working to IP68 the actuator was submerged several times to the depth and time required to ensure it met the specific requirements of the brief.
The Result:
As well as delivering this brief, within the client’s requirements and timeframes, almost 10 years on the actuators are still in use and continuously work submerged 40 metres underwater.
